All the California readers out there take note! Bay Area-based Record Label Records is hosting their first 2 day festival on September 23rd & 24th at Zool in Oakland and it's a massive line-up chock full of Gravity Halo regulars. "Cremation of Care" is the first ever multi-day festival from RLR and here's hoping they continue it annually if they're able to put together acts like this. Tickets are $9 per night or $15 for a 2-day pass and both nights offer plenty to drool over.

Tune in tomorrow at 12pm (noon) 1:00pm Pacific Time for the Boiler Room live stream and catch Hudson Mohawk throwing down a set for the internetz.  This isn't an exclusive Club Halo show, but we're hosting a stream on the site since it is relevant to your interests and we haven't finalized any of our first shows yet (but soon!).  Just click the Club Halo banner just above this post to enter and watch/listen.

Acidburp @ X-Live (X7) by acidburp

Acidburp made the voyage over to Belgium last week and is now delivering us a sweet live set he played at the Narcosis Release Party in Ghent.  This one probably wont be up for ever, but it's downloadable, so get it while it's hot!

Captain Ahab just released the free downloadable album "The Propagation of the Gospel in Foreign Parts" on the Cock Rock Disco label and now he prepares to tear through Europe for the next few weeks, beginning tonight in perhaps my favorite city in the world, Amsterdam.  He'll make stops in Germany, Spain, Portugal, Hungary, Czech Republic, Belgium and France, so European readers, make room on your schedules because Ahab is the shit live!  You can see the stops on his tour in our event calendar on the right side of this page or at his site.

He'll be spinning for the next 2 hours or so...so check it out!

THIS SET IS NOW OVER.

As I'm sure some of you have noticed, there have been some updates to the Gravity Halo site that might interest you.  Aside from the new look, we've added a few things and are hoping to continue expanding the functionality of the site.

The most notable upgrade is the new Event Calendar (located on the right column of the site).  Here you'll find tons of upcoming electronic music shows from around the world, sorted/color-coded by region.

North America
South/Central America
Europe/UK
Asia/Australia

Right now the widget is in its infant stages and we'll need your help to make it even more useful.  We can't be everywhere at once, so we're looking for readers that can help update the calendar with shows happening in their specific areas.  So if you follow the live scene in your city and can spend a few minutes adding shows every few weeks, send us an email or post a comment below.

Enjoy!

My ol' buddy
Captain Ahab just started off his End of Irony tour last night in Oakland and tonight he'll be swinging by SF to bring the funk to the Hemlock Tavern. I'll be there, Deceptikon will be opening, playing some tracks from his awesome new album I presume, so if you're in SF you should probably be there as well. If you haven't seen the Captain live then you're really missing out because it's always a blast.

Largo will be dropping some more beats (original tracks in small, 1 minute doses) at the For The Love beat battle this Saturday @ Club 6 in San Francisco. All the door money goes to raise funds for the documentary "Beats, Rhymes & Life", which documents the trials, tribulations and achievements of a group of youth as they embark on a journey to unleash their hidden potential and learn to use hip-hop as a catalyst for change, development and building community.

If you missed the Psych Rock Beat Battle last week, check out some of Largo's tracks:
