What's up, everybody?! My name is Chris and this blog is my little experiment. I've been producing electronic music for over a decade now. Mostly bedroom shit, for my own enjoyment.
I've never been the kind of person that went out of my way to get signed by a record label or "make it big". I just like to make music and enjoy sharing it with people.

In doing so over the years I've come into contact with a whole slew of talented artists around the world that have since become friends, inspirations, teachers, collaborators and more than anything, some of my absolute favorite musicians to listen to. We've traded tunes, remixed each other's tracks, seen each other's live shows when they came to town and with time I started to feel the sparks of a community forming. The only problem was that I knew all of them, they knew other people, but there wasn't any cohesive network that united all of us. So I decided to start this blog in order to remedy that.

Gravity Halo Collective represents a circle of artists that have been revolving around each other's orbits for years, connected by one or two degrees of separation, finally coming together to form a community. Regardless of style, genre, approach, age or location, the thread that connects all these different artists is simple - they produce some of the best original music on the scene today and they do it not for fame or money, but for the love of making music.

In this day and age, the musical paradigm is quickly changing, old ways are being tossed out or reinvented and the long-standing precedents are being shattered. In my opinion, record labels are on their way out. The days where artists fight for deals in order to get their names out there while giving away most of their power and earnings to guys in suits are over. They aren't necessary anymore and artists are now getting hip to the fact that they've been getting screwed for decades and with the proliferation of the internet, they finally have a way to do something about it - cut out the middlemen. That's what this collective is all about. Instead of relying on the marketing power of record labels, we lift each other up, co-promote, create networks and interface directly with our audiences, creating communities where there once was only isolated fans and artists.

What kind of music can you expect to find on this blog? It's tough to peg down a singular style represented by all of these artists. Some make dance music, some make headphone music, some make music to bump in your car as you drive around aimlessly. But what you'll find with all the Gravity Halo crew is a methodology. We aren't simply making tracks, we're all experimenting with process, tinkering with new ways to evoke emotions, images or vibes through sound, blending different styles into new tapestries that represent our individual interests, our histories and our influences.

So without further ado, I'd like to welcome you all to the Gravity Halo Blog!
At this point, I'll take the next few posts to introduce you to some of the crew that will be using this blog as a place to post new tracks, albums, videos, mixes, news, gig flyers and whatever else strikes their fancy. Enjoy, pass on the word and feel free to leave comments!
