What would Prince sound like if he listened to nothing but a hefty dose of old school house and techno? What would a David Bowie album be like if he collaborated with Shalamar in 1982?
If you're intrigued by these questions then perhaps you should check out one of my favorite producers, San Serac. Hailing from Bodymore, Murderland, San Serac delivers a style all his own that blends 80s boogie-era soul with deep house, techno and disco with absurdist lyrics into an amalgam that is incredibly pleasing to my senses. People often seem to forget how many different forms electronic music can take and I think San Serac is a great example of an artist who is using the medium to express himself in new and interesting ways. On top of that, he's a great performer with a sick live show.
You all should definitely peep his 2007 record "Professional" while you keep an eye out for the follow-up on Morgan Geist's Environ label, "No Twilight". Meanwhile, enjoy these 2 tracks "Night Work" and "Tyrant".
