Just a little bit of useful info for fans of the blog on getting the most out of our music hosting site Soundcloud.

Let's use the latest mummyshroud track, posted earlier this week, as an example:

When you see this player above you, you have several options. You can click play and simply stream the track directly from this page. Fairly simple. But, did you know that you can also make comments inside the track at specific times? Hold your mouse over the blue bar at the bottom and you'll see the option pop up in a bubble. You do need a soundcloud account to comment like this, but they're free, so go ahead and sign up! Your comments will show up inside the track wherever it's posted, just like my useless comment @ the 1:00 min mark.

From this streaming player you can also download the original mp3 file so you can add it to your personal collection. See that downward arrow on the far right side of the player? It shows up in bold face, which means the track is available to download. Just click the arrow, follow the link and you're all set!

Want to share the track with someone, repost it to your Facebook, your blog, Twitter, Myspace, etc.? The < / > icon that appears on the far right side under the download arrow is for doing just that.

Finally, let's say you're a producer yourself and you want to send us a track that you've made. You don't even have to have a soundcloud account, all yous gotta do is send the track via the Drop Box.

Send me your track

You can find the drop box on any artists's soundcloud page, or you can use the Gravity Halo drop box in the right column of this blog.
