So psyched for this new record by Fah, "Fahzers Set To Earth". The first track on this preview, "Not Enough Fahzers" rocks a seriously vicious bassline, with the second track "Casting The Rod" following suit and adding some heavily portamento'd monosynth melodies. In the third section Fah serves up a plodding, cyberpunky groove titled "Glowism" and the mix comes to an epic close with "Magnetic Freedom", sporting a bubbly analog bassline and heavily featuring a sick swinging 808 beat (the 808 is all over these tracks actually). If that wasn't quite enough for you, consider the title track, "Fahzers Set To Earth" in the video below, a dark, luscious Drexciyan beast of a track.
This is a limited edition (250 copies) 12", the first installment in Central Processing Unit's "highly collectable" binary catalogue series. Release date is January 21st, 2013.

Out today on the UK based net-label Section 27 is an awesome split from Dissolved & Nonima called "Foil Splinters" (CAT# S27-107). I've been bumping an advanced copy of this release for about a month now and it's pure class. If you're looking for some melodic glitchiness with an old school (as in early Autechre, Tango n' Vectif-era µ-Ziq) flare, there's plenty to dig into here. Sending out some serious love to our boy Deceptikon during a surely rough time in his life. He's lost someone very close to him and while there isn't much we can do to ease that pain, the least we can do is blast his tunes loud and send some positive vibes his way to let him know we're all right there with him.

It's been about a year since he put out this "800 EP" under the Dkon alias, a 4-track outing that put his newly acquired (at the time) Poly-800 through its paces and it's still a damn solid joint that's definitely worth your time. Oxynucid has been a busy boy lately, prepping his upcoming "Vault 13" full-length on Complex Sound Sagacity, gigging, playing festivals and even helming the August Rotation here on the Gravity Halo site. And somehow in the middle of all that, he's found the time to deliver these 20 searing bangers in the form of "Refreshed & Compressed", available as a digital download from his Bandcamp page for ₤6.99.






These 20 tracks are loaded with fuzzy synths, emotive melodies and video game landscapes paired with an almost shoegazey vibe that really sets Oxynucid apart from the pack...it's even got a Radiohead cover (of sorts). While more of a compilation of assorted tracks than a cohesive album, this one is well worth the time and money and will almost certainly get you hyped up for the "Vault 13" release.

Multiple personality disorder is a rare and misunderstood mental condition. Sometimes, a patient's MPD can turn ugly. In some exceedingly rare circumstances one personality can turn on another, creating such cognitive dissonance within the patient that recovery becomes nearly impossible. Please note the case of Acidburp vs Rat-Faced Boy. In this study, patient A, herein referred to as Acidburp - a normal English man in his early 30s - began showing signs of a second personality, who referred to himself as Rat-Faced Boy. While early treatments showed signs of the Acidburp personality maintaining a dominant role in the patient's psychology, when heavy doses of acid were administered through the aural pathways, CAT scans showed that Rat-Faced Boy's prominence began to grow within certain areas of the brain. Repeated tests involving various doses of acid all yielded similar results and the conclusion was drawn that in select cases personalities could be called up and controlled with some reliability. For now, the Acidburp/Rat-Faced Boy personalities remain compartmentalized within the mind of the patient, but concerns have been made by many medical officials that further testing could result in a complete collapse of cognitive function.

This short and sassy split EP from Japan's Missqulater and Chicago's The Carrier Wave offers 1 original track from each artist and a remix of the other's original. Lush synth stabs float over playful choral chops, throbbing acid lines and those snappy 808 snares you crave on Missq's offering "Orion Busted". The Carrier Wave's "Gamma 9 Cruise" takes you to the depths of interstellar space with clap attacks, airy pads, a twisting 303 freak and some juicy analog warbles. The remixes, of course, twist and tweak the originals to wonderful new places. I'm especially digging the old school big-beat vibe on Missq's "Gamma" remix.

You can download the split in a myriad of formats from Karakasa's website and I highly recommend that you do so, so as not to appear behind the times when these dudes blow up massively, as they most certainly will. Then you'd just look foolish, wouldn't you?

Gravity Halo regular William S. Braintree has a new record dropping next month and judging by the previews, it's gonna be a good one!

The full length, titled "House of Meats" will be released on Braintree's own Vae Victis! Records and features some slick artwork by Vincent Giard. It will be available as a digital download via BandCamp, iTunes, Amazon and the like, or as a professionally pressed CD release through his BandCamp page.

The flipside of the record contains the track "Dessert Bass" by Daly City Records owner and touring purple dinosaur extraordinaire, Mochipet. For those of you that were a little late to the EOD party, you may not know about the truly epic series of downloadable EPs he started putting out in 2005 called simply "EAP". These were short offerings of 2-6 tracks each where he honed his analog acid stylings to a finely tuned artform. For years these 20+ EPs have been pretty hard to come by unless you were around to grab them when they were originally released, but all that is about to change.

You can now download ALL the EAP tracks (over 70 of them!) in a single package from EOD's bandcamp page. The $26.00 price tag may seem a little steep, but trust me, the tracks in this series are worth twice that and you'll be enjoying these gems for years to come, constantly discovering new favorites and rediscovering ones you may have forgotten.

Been meaning to post about this one for a few days now, so excuse the tardiness. Gravity Halo favorite EOD returns with this 6 track downloadable EP for purchase from Bandcamp. Priced at $6, it's a great deal for these SERIOUSLY quality tunes, not to mention you'd be helping this awesome producer raise some much needed cash to repair/replace a few pieces of recently broken gear. Believe me, these aren't just throw away tunes either...in fact, they may even be better than his recent "Utrecht" 12" (imo). Some great tracks here, so check it out and give him some support!

Chris Moss Acid returns with a 2-track EP of Italo soaked lushness to whet your appetite in preparation for a full length release later this year. That's really all I need to say, right?

Los Angeles' Mumkai had two excellent tracks on our "Broken Pieces" compilation last year as well as a whole slew of sick one-offs, so we've been very excited to get our hands on the debut EP by this talented beat-maker. The third of The Carrier Wave's debut EP sequence is now out on upitup records as a free download. Chicago's The Carrier Wave is finishing up his inaugural stint on the Rotation(s) blog within the next week and just in the nick of time comes his latest EP from our Maltese homies over at C.S.S., "Rich & Strange". This EP features more of the fine acid stylings demonstrated on his debut "Live Takes Vol. 1" this time expanding on the format by dropping some nice orchestral elements as well.  Like a "Richard D.
