Chicago's The Carrier Wave is finishing up his inaugural stint on the Rotation(s) blog within the next week and just in the nick of time comes his latest EP from our Maltese homies over at C.S.S., "Rich & Strange". This EP features more of the fine acid stylings demonstrated on his debut "Live Takes Vol. 1" this time expanding on the format by dropping some nice orchestral elements as well.  Like a "Richard D. James Album" kind of effect, but obviously with a lot more 303 and a little less drum n' bass influence.  Some really good stuff here, so be sure to check it out and head of to the Rotation(s) blog for some more tasty tidbits of wisdom from Mr. Wave.

You don't hear a ton of IDM coming out of Kansas, but Hautlle's "Boundaries Destroyed" delivers a solid EP of "On" era Aphex style braindance with a touch of glitchery straight from America's heartland to your eardrums.  Lots of blips, bloops, ticks, crackles and pops over some nice old school synth pads and melodies.  I just wish there were a few more tracks on this one because it's pretty sweet stuff!  You can stream the EP over at the C.S.S. site, so check it, fools!

Another solid EP from the folks over at C.S.S., this time from ambient IDM artist and Malta native Darren Borg. "Room In A Blackhole" brings us 4 tracks of mellow ambient soundscapes layered with weird glitches, minimal beat work, lush pads, field recordings and icy melodies that float in and out of the mix dreamily.  Good stuff for a (hopefully) chill day.

 Acidburp's debut for C.S.S. is a beautiful little EP crammed with lush textures, melodies and beats that skitter through like broken wind-up toys.  Plenty of twists and turns with lovely secrets hidden behind each snare rush.  We posted the track "Wasp Incident" awhile back, which closes out this piece in epic fashion, so if you were digging that track, this is definitely a release you're going to want to grab.  

Gravity Halo + C.S.S. = More Music For You [news]

Awhile back we told you about that Chris Moss Acid EP on Complex Sound Sagacity and hopefully you downloaded/enjoyed it because Gravity Halo is going to be teaming up with the crew, based out of Malta, to bring you even more releases every month.  On top of the monthly first Tuesday releases we already bring you, C.S.S. will deliver albums/eps from local artists in Malta as well as the foreign artists they book (like CMA).  They'll handle the CD release, Gravity Halo will deliver the digital.  You'll also see their shows popping up in our event calendar as well.

Stay tuned for a solid release schedule and more info about upcoming releases, but rumor is...the first release might be a little somethin' somethin' by Acidburp.
