Multiple personality disorder is a rare and misunderstood mental condition. Sometimes, a patient's MPD can turn ugly. In some exceedingly rare circumstances one personality can turn on another, creating such cognitive dissonance within the patient that recovery becomes nearly impossible. Please note the case of Acidburp vs Rat-Faced Boy. In this study, patient A, herein referred to as Acidburp - a normal English man in his early 30s - began showing signs of a second personality, who referred to himself as Rat-Faced Boy. While early treatments showed signs of the Acidburp personality maintaining a dominant role in the patient's psychology, when heavy doses of acid were administered through the aural pathways, CAT scans showed that Rat-Faced Boy's prominence began to grow within certain areas of the brain. Repeated tests involving various doses of acid all yielded similar results and the conclusion was drawn that in select cases personalities could be called up and controlled with some reliability. For now, the Acidburp/Rat-Faced Boy personalities remain compartmentalized within the mind of the patient, but concerns have been made by many medical officials that further testing could result in a complete collapse of cognitive function.

Overpowered ft.iAM9 (Acidburp Remix) by acidburp
Very subtle and beautiful remix of Moth Conk Midi's track "Overpowered" by Acidburp. Moth Conk Midi is a collaboration between Oxynucid and Vertical67 and their 2010 album "Amazing Stories" is, well...pretty amazing. You can download it here, if you aren't already hip to it. "Overpowered" features the vocals of iAM9.

Listen to "Poking Velvet Blue" by Acidburp after the break.
Acidburp+Kalavnik Preview by acidburp
I'm diggin' the tracks on this little preview of the upcoming Acidburp/Kalavnik split EP. Look for it soon as a free download from THEM Records. Then again, you know we'll be posing about it, so you shouldn't have to look too hard.
Big thanks to awkward for taking the time to upload the "Broken Pieces" compilation so that ye may preview it before ye download, listen on the go or just generally be in awe of its awesomeness wherever you may be.

Gravity Halo regular Acidburp recently put out a lovely EP of some older unreleased tracks that's well worth your time. "Dust Covered" features Acidburp's trademark crisp melodic progressions over skittish beats, so if you're a fan of artists like Ochre, Wisp, Cats On Earth, Sendy with hints of Drukqs-era Aphex and you haven't checked out any of this dude's music yet, then do yourself a solid and grab this EP. It's a steal at ₤3 (about $4.50 USD) - a small price to pay, considering all the shit he's given your cheap ass for free over the years.

Well friends, we're 8 months into this Gravity Halo undertaking and so far, so good. We're steadily gaining readership, hits and most importantly, we're putting out a TON of great music by some really talented artists and giving them a platform for their music to spread across the globe. Now that's not to say that we've reached our goals or even a comfortable resting place because there's lots more room to grow, but it is a great time to put together a release that sums up what Gravity Halo is all about. Thus, we present to you our first compilation/mixtape - "Broken Pieces". These 14 tracks run the spectrum, from awkward's ambient noisescapes to Acidburp's lush, progressive breakcore to Mumkai's neck snapping beats to Sendy's epic sound adventures and Rock Hyrax's intricate micro-glitch - the styles vary drastically, but the connecting threads are clear. These are all incredibly skilled independent artists that are driven by their love of making tunes and that's apparent in every second of this record.
Enjoy the release, spread it around, repost, reblog, re-fuckin-tweet, tell some dude on the street...let's do this, people!
Acidburp @ X-Live (X7) by acidburp
Acidburp made the voyage over to Belgium last week and is now delivering us a sweet live set he played at the Narcosis Release Party in Ghent. This one probably wont be up for ever, but it's downloadable, so get it while it's hot!

Acidburp's debut for C.S.S. is a beautiful little EP crammed with lush textures, melodies and beats that skitter through like broken wind-up toys. Plenty of twists and turns with lovely secrets hidden behind each snare rush. We posted the track "Wasp Incident" awhile back, which closes out this piece in epic fashion, so if you were digging that track, this is definitely a release you're going to want to grab.
Awhile back we told you about that Chris Moss Acid EP on Complex Sound Sagacity and hopefully you downloaded/enjoyed it because Gravity Halo is going to be teaming up with the crew, based out of Malta, to bring you even more releases every month. On top of the monthly first Tuesday releases we already bring you, C.S.S. will deliver albums/eps from local artists in Malta as well as the foreign artists they book (like CMA). They'll handle the CD release, Gravity Halo will deliver the digital. You'll also see their shows popping up in our event calendar as well.
Stay tuned for a solid release schedule and more info about upcoming releases, but rumor is...the first release might be a little somethin' somethin' by Acidburp.

I've been meaning to get around to posting some stuff by this guy for awhile and there's no better reason than these two beautiful melodic IDM/drill/acid/breakcore/whateveryouwannacallit from Manchester's Acidburp. If you like Aphex's Drukqs-era stuff, old school ยต-ziq, Wisp and Global Goon, definitely check this guy out. He's got a nice little writeup over at Brainchops, as well, if you're aching for more.
